What you will learn in this workshop
This workshop focuses entirely on black-and-white portrait photography using natural light. I’ll explain the basic concepts, the approach, how to work with light and shadow, and which situations are ideal for a portrait. How should I, as a photographer, interact with my model? What influence do I have on the scene, and what should I avoid doing?
1. Introduction
A brief introduction and explanation of the basics of black-and-white photography.
2. Photographing in natural light
Thinking in black and white – that’s what we’ll practice together. How do I approach a portrait photo? Recognizing light and shadow. Learn to observe. “Work the scene.” What tools are available? What should I consider in my camera settings? What equipment do I need?
3. Optional, if there's still time – Editing
The digital darkroom is also an important part of the creative process in black-and-white photography. I’ll show you my workflow and what you should keep in mind during post-processing.
What you should you
